Software Updates

You may download the updated version of the software that accompanies this book.  This is Version 3.00 which was created on 5/19/2003.  Printing 1 of the textbook contained Version 1.00 of the software.   Printings 2 and 3 of the textbook contained Version 2.00. All modifications made to the software since printing 1 are included in Version 3.00. 

Procedure for updating:

1. Download Version 3.00 by clicking the mouse on the highlighted words below:

2. Unzip the NumericalMethodsCD-ROM.zip file.  (If you do not have the WinZip program, you may download an evaluation version of WinZip from http://www.winzip.com). 

When extracted, the NumericalMethodsCD-ROM.zip file automatically creates a folder called Numerical Methods CD-ROM which contains the same set of files (updated) as the original CD-ROM that came with the book. 

The installation procedure for Windows is exactly the same as described in the textbook (pp. xv-xix).   The installation procedure for Macintosh and Unix systems are described in the Readme files which are on the CD-ROM. 

Macintosh and Unix users should read the "Readme_Mac_Unix_users" file.
